Cheap And Healthy Food Ideas June 9, 2011

Are you hungry for BBQ ribs on the grill but tired of going out to expensive restaurants to dine on your favourite food? What if I told you preparing a barbeque similar to how restaurant or BBQ grill shops do it, can be done by you, Impossible? Of course not, follow this guide of how to prepare the said dish and you will be eating BBQ ribs on the grill in no time. There are several methods of grilling or preparing a barbeque.

Microwaves may not be good for much, but they do help you out a lot when it comes to preparing a quick and healthy meal. You may be too busy to stop at the store on the way home and all the meat at your home is in the freezer. Simply grab a healthy choice from your freezer, such as boneless skinless chicken breast, and throw it in the microwave and defrost it. This saves you the trip to the store and allows you to avoid bringing home fast food, which is far from healthy.

With crockpot dinners the same applies. You should not take the lid off a crockpot unless you have to. This is because when you take off the lid, you let steam escape and the temperature in the crockpot plummets. It also means you have to add on about an extra half an hour of cooking time. So season the food once, rather than tasting it often.

Pour half of the Thai BBQ sauce over the pork ribs and then stir together well to coat them fully, allow to cool, cover, then place the marinated pork ribs crock pot in a refridgerator for 2 to 24 hours. The longer the better.

When I say this book was complete what I mean is that it not only has 53 recipes it also has an introduction section that explains the ins and outs of a crock pot, commonly known as a slow cooker. It also contains a complete list of items to always have in your pantry so you can make a soup recipe any time. I found this very useful.

If you'd rather eat than cook, there's a contest for you, too. At 6 pm on August 27, the opening day of the rib cook-off, the 3rd Annual World Rib Eating Competition will commence on the main stage of the event. Be forewarned though - top professional eaters from around the world will be in attendance. (I'm still wondering how one becomes a "professional eater" and where I can sign up.) Joey Chestnut, winner of last year's rib eating contest, managed to somehow scarf down 7 pounds of bbq ribs.

This is about something more important than the standard mom and pop barbeque cafe. This is about folks who use their imagination to earn slow cooker pork ribs money in troubled times like we're living in now. Those who have lost their job due to the economy are falling back on their hobbies to make enough money to support their families.

Third, always prepare food in bulk. If you manage to find time to make a sandwich, for example, make three. Then wrap two and put them into the refrigerator. If you cook a meal, cook a large one. Portion out servings into individual containers (the reusable disposable type are excellent for this) and keep them in the fridge. When you need to eat, all you will have to do is remove pork rib roast of the portions and microwave it.

Don't forget that both Sweetbay and Publix use those additional monies off coupons from competitors. Check individual store websites for exact sales dates, addtional sales items, and Tampa Bay locations. Happy saving!
